It's Time To Make A Baby

As a favour to a neighbour, I agreed to coach his seven-year old son in his English despite my tight schedule.

I am usually stingy with praises for children but this little boy has charmed me like no one else has. He has the biggest eyes with the most beautiful lashes, a dimpled smile and a face twinkling with mischief. And he is awfully affectionate to me :)

One day, to practise his speech, I asked him to tell me about his family. He held up four fingers and counted his family members. As he counted to the last finger, he stuck out the fifth finger and said, "No, no. Five. And you." Then, he smiled shyly and shook his head.

I almost melted into a puddle. Le sigh.

Serene Has A Bedok Face, I Have A Michelle Face

Isn't it cool that you can guess bits of information about a person just from his/her appearance? 'Cept when the deductions are wrong.

Last night, two different people called me or introduced me as Michelle even though they knew that my name is Melissa. This wasn't the first or the second time something like this happened. I'm sure Gek Leng remembers clearly. Strangely, a handful of friends that I make over the past years subconciously think that I'm called Michelle. They said that I looked like a Michelle.

Doh.
