This is Mandy Zhang, Deputy Director of Blogfest 2006.
Firstly, Congratulations on getting into the finals of Blogfest 2006!
Secondly, I have observed that you have not mentioned anything about this on your blog, and I am wondering if you are aware of getting into the finals in the first place.
I am writing this email, as there have been cases of sabotage of finalists by their friends into registering the blogs into the blogging competition.
Only the name, NUS email address and the blog url was required during the registration process, so it was difficult for the organisers to check or verify anything using an i/c no. or something similiar. Although a confirmation email of successful registration was sent to the NUS mail of the blogs from 1 Feb to 14 Feb, it's been observed that some people do not check their NUS mail, thus leading to some problems, as some of the finalists only realised the sabotage too late and had requested to withdraw from Blogfest 2006 recently.
If you have been sabotaged and would like to withdraw from the compeition due to privacy issues or other reasons, please reply me with your name, email address, contact no and blog url to mandyhana@gmail.com asap.
I'm a little embarrassed about this but well, A Prudent Bitch got nominated for the Best NUS Blog of Blogfest 2006.
I entered cos I wanted to win the prize money. But the winner is determined by popularity votes. And I'm not a popular girl.
Didn't want to announce it cos it's a real hassle for you to vote. Damn too many steps. Need to vote everyday too.
Although my readership has jumped by leaps and bounds, no reader can be bothered to vote for me. So my current standing is at 7th position out of 9 nominees. Seems like the other contestants have many enthusiastic friends. Oh alright, maybe they are really interesting and witty and I'm just jealous. I dunno, I didn't read theirs.
Nah, it doesn't really matter. I won't win anyway - not popular enough. Duh.
